Baseball Recap: Boulder Creek Comes Up Short

Boulder Creek suffered their closest loss since March 1st on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 last Tuesday.

Boulder Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ren Wallace, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Chase Gilmore was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Boulder Creek's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mountain Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boulder Creek will host Camelback at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Mountain Ridge, they will be playing at home against Valley Vista at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Mountain Lions will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Monsoon will have lost three straight heading into Friday's game.
