Basketball Recap: Wayne County Wildcats vs. Perry County Vikings

In what's become a running theme this season, the Wayne County Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Perry County 49-29. The victory was familiar territory for Wayne County who now have five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Perry County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cianna Wilson. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Byrd, who scored seven points.

Wayne County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Perry County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Wayne County will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Collinwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Wildcats are ranked 11th). As for Perry County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
