Buckhorn is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Payne just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 15-8 to the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bucks have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mortimer Jordan beat Moody 6-3 on Tuesday.

Jackson Woodruff looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mortimer Jordan's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Funderburk, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
