Basketball Recap: Macedonian Christian Takes a Loss

Macedonian Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-13 loss at the hands of the Brazosport Christian Eagles. The game marked Macedonian Christian's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Brazosport Christian found their leader in sophomore Bo Coburn, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 steals. Those 12 steals gave Coburn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valerie Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Macedonian Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brazosport Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Macedonian Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harvest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 17, 2025. As for Brazosport Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-30 defeat against Founders Christian on the 14th.
