Volleyball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Madison and Union Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Madison had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Madison took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Layla Rhinehart paced Madison's offense, picking up nine kills. Rhinehart got some help from Meredith Gault and her 14 assists. Kaya Bradshaw controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Union Academy to victory were Kylie Harman and Landry Carson. Harman had 12 digs and five aces, while Carson had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Carson has posted since back in September.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Union Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-5 record this season.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Academy, they will face off against Patton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
