Recap: Joliet West Tigers vs. Rich Township Raptors
On Saturday, Joliet West ended up a good deal behind Rich Township and lost 70-53.
Leading Rich Township to victory were Samar Bures and Jayden Williams. Bures scored 15 points along with three steals, while Williams scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Brown, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Joliet West has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Rich Township, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Joliet West will take on St. Patrick at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Patrick is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Rich Township won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marian Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on January 14th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Marian Catholic is ranked 73rd, while Rich Township is ranked 49th).
