Football Recap: Stringer Comes Up Short

Stringer dropped down to 4-2 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a blow against the Taylorsville Tartars, falling 49-12. The matchup marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Stringer still got an impressive performance from Jaheim Campbell, who rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown. Campbell's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

As for Taylorsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 7.6 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.83 in the others.

Karryon Phillips had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 134 yards and one TD on only five carries. Tayshawn Scott also helped out as he racked up 138 rushing yards.

Stringer has already played their next contest, a 38-30 win against Wayne Academy on the 10th. As for Taylorsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-3 victory against Resurrection Catholic on the 10th.
