Football Recap: Stringer Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Stringer finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were outmatched by the Taylorsville Tartars and fell 49-12. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Karryon Phillips was nothing short of spectacular for Taylorsville: he rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Zarian Pittman, who rushed for 31 yards and a pair of TDs.

With the loss, Stringer broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. As for Taylorsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Stringer will head out on the road to take on Wayne Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Taylorsville, they will host Resurrection Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
