Football Recap: West Salem Starts Season with Defeat at Home

West Salem unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 35-26 to the Onalaska Hilltoppers on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Looking ahead, West Salem is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Tomah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Onalaska, they will be playing at home against Medford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
