Baseball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence lost against Austin back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Black Bears by a score of 6-5.

Florence saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kirkland Blanke, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Eli Martin, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Florence has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-21 record this season. As for Austin, their record now sits at 10-24.

While Florence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
