Recap: Palm Bay Pirates vs. Carver Tigers

The Palm Bay Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Carver as Palm Bay made off with a 85-62 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Palm Bay has posted yet this season.

Palm Bay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaida Civil out in front who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Kiara Williams, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazmin Thornton, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Thornton hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Thomas, who scored nine points along with eight steals.

Palm Bay is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Carver, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Palm Bay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Campbell at 1:15 p.m. on January 6th. Campbell is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Carver won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
