Bonneville hasn't had much luck against Pocatello recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bees will square off against the Thunder at 5:00 p.m. Bonneville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Bonneville couldn't beat Hillcrest on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Bees came up short against the Knights, falling 16-6.
Alyvia Rudd and Alli Sutherland stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rudd went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Sutherland went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Pocatello came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 12-8.
Jakobi Nebeker was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jordy Snell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Pocatello lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Pocatello pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bonneville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pocatello struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bonneville suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Pocatello in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bees avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
