Softball Recap: Northeast Extends Road Winning Streak to Nine

Northeast took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Chesapeake, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Northeast skirted past Chesapeake 3-2. The Eagles' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Northeast's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madison Burris, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Sophie Bossom also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Northeast hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chesapeake struck out eight times.

Northeast pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Chesapeake, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
