Football Game Preview: King Lions vs. Gaither Cowboys

The King Lions will start their season against the Gaither Cowboys. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Gaither is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of Sickles. The Cowboys have struggled against the Gryphons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Gaither's loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for King, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished 0-10.

King took a serious blow against Gaither when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 34-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gaither's Carolyn Emmanuel, who threw for 70 yards and four touchdowns, and also picked up 60 receiving yards.
