Matt Laferriere was the best pitcher in Division I - South this week, leading
Coventry. He won one game and struck out eight batters.
East Greenwich's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 13 hits and seven walks to lead the league in both categories. The Avengers have given up a mere 112 hits on the year, while striking out 83 opposing hitters.
David Hopkins is the leader in that category with 38 Ks on the season.
The Oakers'
Cote Nichols finished his week with six hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .319 and ranks twenty-first in the league with 15 hits.
David Hopkins drove in four runners as North Kingstown defeated East Greenwich 6-4 on Monday.
