Basketball Recap: Sedan Falls Despite Big Games from Brycen Dickens and Jackson Dowell

Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 68-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Haven Cardinals. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Devils still had to take the loss.

Sedan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Dowell, who en route to 17 points along with seven boards and four steals, and Brycen Dickens, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Dowell's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Smilko, who had six points and six steals.

Sedan's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for South Haven, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Sedan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-44 win against Udall on the 14th. As for South Haven, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-62 defeat against Central on the 14th.
