Basketball Recap: Hough Huskies vs. West Mecklenburg Hawks
The Hough Huskies can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over West Mecklenburg. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hough has managed all season.
Hough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Skovira, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Henry Moore, who scored 11 points.
Josiah Pratt and Cam Higgins certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Pratt scored ten points along with six blocks, while Higgins scored 12 points. Pratt has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Tayshaun Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and two steals.
Hough's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for West Mecklenburg, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.
Hough will take on the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Mecklenburg, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Mecklenburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matchups -- so hopefully the Hawks like a good challenge.
