Preview: Bethany Bronchos vs. Elk City Elks
The Bethany Bronchos on the road again on Friday and play against the Elk City Elks at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Bethany's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Last Saturday, Bethany faced Anadarko in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bethany took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 64-32 win over Anadarko. Bethany has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 26 points or more this season.
Zya Vann and Keziah Lofton were among the main playmakers for Bethany as the former scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists and the latter scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lofton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Talia Vann, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Elk City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Clinton on the road to the tune of 79-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Elk City has posted since December 5, 2023.
Bethany has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Elk City, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
Everything came up roses for Bethany against Elk City when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 88-51 win. Does Bethany have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elk City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
