Softball Preview: Camp Point Central Panthers vs. Macomb Bombers

The Camp Point Central Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Macomb Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camp Point Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Even though Camp Point Central couldn't quite topple Beardstown on Saturday, it was still a huge improvement compared to the ten-point loss they took when the two last played. Everything went Camp Point Central's way against Beardstown as Camp Point Central made off with a 10-1 win. The victory was just what Camp Point Central needed coming off of a 10-0 defeat in their prior contest.

Emma Stephens was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Stephens was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Olivia Hofmann was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Lauren Miller was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Macomb's offense. They fell victim to a rough 9-0 loss at the hands of Pittsfield on Saturday. The match marked that first time this season in which Macomb was not able to get on the board.
