Baseball Recap: Lexington Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Lexington nor McNairy Central made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in March, they had to take a 5-0 loss.

Aiden Seaton looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lexington's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 5-2 (and 4-14 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Lexington's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jake Goodman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Goodman a new career-high.

Lexington's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for McNairy Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Lexington nor McNairy Central have any future games scheduled.
