Volleyball Recap: Minatare Comes Up Short

Minatare was the 2-0 winner over Kimball when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Longhorns on Monday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Minatare ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17.

Jimena Perez paced Minatare's offense, picking up 13 kills. Perez got some help from Zoe Pedotto and her six assists.

Leading Kimball to victory were Hannah Kilgore and Josephine Perry. Kilgore had 12 digs, while Perry had four digs. Kilgore has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Minatare's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Kimball, they moved to 11-16 with that win, which also ended their eight-match losing streak.

Minatare didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hemingford on the 20th. As for Kimball, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Perkins County on the 21st.
