Basketball Recap: Furlow Charter School Comes Up Short

Furlow Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Macon County Bulldogs 73-14. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rashad Dowdell was Furlow Charter School's leading scorer, having posted six points. Dowdell also led the team in rebounds with five.

Jeremiah Solomon was a one-man wrecking crew for Macon County as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Solomon a new career-high in points. Lavoris Smith was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Furlow Charter School's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Macon County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Furlow Charter School will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chattahoochee County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Macon County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 85-53 win against Central on the 14th.
