Warsaw dropped their record down to 3-2 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (14-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. If they were looking for revenge after losing 14-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Raegan Robinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Brooklyn Nibert was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
As for Wawasee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
On Wawasee's side, Evelyn Duncan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Duncan has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Audra Weaver and MariJo Bontrager did most of the damage at the plate: Weaver went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Bontrager went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Berkeypile, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Warsaw has already played their next match, a 20-5 defeat against Columbia City on the 22nd. As for Wawasee, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 loss against Mishawaka on the 23rd.
