Softball Recap: Wake Forest Has No Trouble Against Northern Durham

Wake Forest's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Northern Durham Knights as the Wake Forest Cougars made off with a 16-0 win. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Jil Livengood was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 21 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abbey Lauer, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Ward, who went 1-for-4 with five RBI.
