Recap: Montrose Blue Jays vs. Sheldon Panthers
The Montrose Blue Jays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 53-29 loss at the hands of Sheldon. Montrose has struggled against Sheldon recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Sheldon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Bogart, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Bogart continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Aiden Ellifrits was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 assists.
Montrose now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Sheldon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montrose is on the road again on Thursday and plays Sherwood at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Montrose is facing Sherwood at the right time seeing as Sherwood is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Sheldon, they and Northeast Vernon County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
