Football Game Preview: Wesclin Warriors vs. Madison Trojans

The Wesclin Warriors will face off against the Madison Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wesclin has three straight victories, Madison has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Wesclin beats Madison with 34 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Warriors claimed a resounding 34-0 win over Carlyle. The contest marked the Warriors' most dominant victory of the season.

Cael Madden was his usual excellent self, rushing for 148 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 52 yards and one touchdown. What's more, he racked up 110.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Madden was just one part of a punishing run game: Wesclin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Madison lost 29-6 to Gateway Tech on Friday. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Wesclin, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Wesclin strolled past Madison when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 41-26. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
