Baseball Recap: Hunter Nepple Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Holdrege

Adams Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Holdrege Dusters a 6-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Krejci looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Adams Central's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Nepple, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave Nepple a new career-high. Kaleb Wahlmeier was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Adams Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holdrege struck out eight times.

Adams Central's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Holdrege, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Adams Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-3 victory against York on the 3rd. As for Holdrege, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Fairbury on the 3rd.
