Football Recap: Dawson Skates Past Pasadena Memorial with Ease + How To Watch

Dawson barely beat Pasadena Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles claimed a resounding 55-0 victory over the Mavericks. The match marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

A big part of Dawson's victory came down to the chemistry between Luke Brown and his top target Corey Brown. Luke threw for 147 yards and three TDs while Corey gained 45 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Corey a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

Dawson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Justin Welch, Nathaniel Talom, and Rodney Alexander picked up one apiece. Talom is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Dawson got some further help from Jeramiah Bravo: he picked up two sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

The win (which was Dawson's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Pasadena Memorial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dawson is set to challenge their familiar foe Shadow Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 14, the Sharks 14.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Pasadena Memorial will square off against rival Dobie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
