St. Augustine Catholic needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Carlos Acuna. The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over the Andrada Polytechnic Mavericks on Wednesday thanks in part to Acuna, who posted 19 points along with six steals and five assists. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jovanni Fernandez, who put up three points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

St. Augustine Catholic's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Andrada Polytechnic, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Augustine Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Andrada Polytechnic, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sequoia Pathway Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
