Softball Recap: San Marino Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

San Marino came into Thursday's matchup having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Maranatha Minutemen on Thursday as the San Marino Titans made off with a 12-2 victory. The Titans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024.

Kayla Giddings was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Alexandra Hughes also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

San Marino's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Maranatha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Marino will host Pasadena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pasadena has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.44 runs per game on average), something San Marino will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maranatha, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Whittier Christian at 3:15 p.m.
