Softball Recap: Fort White Indians vs. Madison County Cowboys        
        
		
            
 It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fort White had no problem doing just that  on Thursday. They walked away with  a   5-1  victory over the Madison County Cowboys. That's more bragging rights for Fort White, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Kadence Compton made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Compton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Compton was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Compton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Morgan Kelly, who  went 2-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  N'Coreyia Atkins, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 On Madison County's side,  LOGAN BASS was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Fort White has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record  this season. As for Madison County, their defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 16-11.
 Fort White will challenge Branford at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Branford will roll in looking for their  seventh straight  win, something Fort White surely won't give up without a fight. Madison County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
