While Eagle River's victory against West Anchorage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since May 23, 2024.

Eagle River's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Liam Lierman, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Eagle River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Eagle River pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for West Anchorage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eagle River will take on rival Service at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 3.4, the Cougars 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, West Anchorage is set to challenge their familiar foe Dimond at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
