Argyle extended their winning streak  to seven  on Thursday, bumping them up to 7-1. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Burleson Elks 41-7. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than 22  points this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Maguire Gasperson continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 229 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Argyle also got help from  Julian Caldwell, who showed off his sure hands for 94  receiving yards.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Argyle proved: they limited Burleson to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank  Brody Bomar for the heroic effort on defense: he. Argyle's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.7.
