After losing to Animo Venice the last time they met, New Roads decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Jaguars enjoyed a cozy 47-28 victory over the Pirates on Monday. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Roads to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabe Chibane, who posted 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Koa Davidson, who had ten points and four steals.

New Roads was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are 2-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

The win got New Roads back to even at 4-4. As for Animo Venice, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

New Roads will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lennox Academy on January 5, 2026. As for Animo Venice, they have already played their next contest, a 66-52 defeat against University Prep Value on the 16th.
