Football Game Preview: Broken Bow Savages vs. Stilwell Indians

Broken Bow has gone a perfect 9-0 against Stilwell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Savages will venture away from home to face off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Broken Bow came up short against Sallisaw and fell 40-30. The loss was the Savages' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Broken Bow got top-tier performance from Greydon Howell, who rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 364 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. Howell's longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jattairrius Neal was another key player, gaining 145 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Stilwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 55-44 to McLain Science & Tech. On the bright side, the 44- point performance marked the Indians' highest-scoring game to date.

Stilwell's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Broken Bow, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Broken Bow against Stilwell when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Savages since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
