Basketball Game Preview: East Lyme Vikings vs. New London Whalers

East Lyme hasn't had much luck against New London recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The East Lyme Vikings will host the New London Whalers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, East Lyme lost to Norwich Free Academy on the road by a 47-30 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Wildcats are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New London). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-19 win over East Hartford. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Whalers with their most commanding win of the season.

New London's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for East Lyme, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
