Softball Game Preview: Triton Trojans vs. Winamac Warriors

Triton is 0-8 against Winamac since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Trojans will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Triton has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Triton is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Saturday. They came up short against Manchester, falling 20-3.

Meanwhile, while Winamac put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Tri-Township. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Tigers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Bruce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games. Another player making a difference was Makayla Werner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Winamac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Township only posted an OBP of .062.

Triton's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Winamac, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
