McKeel Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Discovery Spartans get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Chloe Lanier was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Monica Tillery and Hannah Brenneman did most of the damage at the plate: Tillery went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Brenneman scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Brenneman a new career-high in hits (three). Emma Skipper was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKeel Academy will face off against Auburndale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McKeel Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Discovery, they will take on Kathleen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
