Basketball Recap: Avon Lake's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Avon Lake can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 63-57 W over the Midview Middies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-53 back in December of 2024.

Midview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Newton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Luke Jockel was another key player, putting up 15 points and four steals.

Avon Lake's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12. As for Midview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Avon Lake has already played their next game, a 64-46 defeat against Avon on the 25th. As for Midview, they will take on Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Steele knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Midview likes a good challenge.
