Soccer Recap: Providence Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Providence Christian Academy has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 2-0 to the Athens Academy Spartans on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for Providence Christian Academy seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Providence Christian Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Athens Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge Commerce at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens Academy, they will face off against Cedar Shoals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
