Softball Recap: LAMP Golden Tigers vs. McKenzie Tigers

LAMP's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the McKenzie Tigers as the LAMP Golden Tigers made off with a 13-5 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Caroline Russell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Russell was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Alice Vickers was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Arin Sturdivant was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

LAMP kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

LAMP's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for McKenzie, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
