Softball Recap: Fike Takes a Loss

Fike's last matchup with East Wake could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Demons lost 17-4 to the Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in March.

Fike saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Selah Escamilla, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Christa Jones also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Fike and nudges their season record down to 6-16. As for East Wake, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fike will face off against Hunt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Wake, they will challenge Franklinton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Red Rams a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
