Baseball Recap: Milpitas Comes Up Short

Milpitas extended their losing streak to 16 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the Los Gatos Wildcats. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Milpitas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Pagba, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Pagba has hit this season.

As for Los Gatos, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Los Gatos' side, Chase Oberthier looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jayden Thomas was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Will Temple was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

While Milpitas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
