Baseball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

Riverview's last matchup with Chamberlain could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Sharks lost 13-5 to the Storm. That's two games in a row now that the Sharks have lost by exactly eight runs.

Riverview got a good showing from Parker Amato, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Amato has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riverview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Shellman, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Justin Edwards, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Riverview has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Chamberlain, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-20.

Riverview and Chamberlain are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Sharks will face off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chamberlain, they will square off against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
