New Caney and Conroe are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2020, but likely not for long. New Caney will head out on the road to square off against Conroe at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

New Caney lost 21-8 to West Fork on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Conroe had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Conroe's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for New Caney, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9-2.

New Caney skirted past Conroe 6-5 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Caney since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
