Softball Recap: McKinney Boyd Broncos vs. Prosper Eagles

McKinney Boyd had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-15 to make it seven. They came up short against the Prosper Eagles, falling 19-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 back in February.

Josie Knight was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Reagan Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Prosper, the win got them back to even at 10-10. Considering they have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Prosper's side, they got a massive performance out of Ava Van Volkenburgh, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Van Volkenburgh a new career-high. Reese Bruno was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Coincidentally, McKinney Boyd and Prosper will both be playing Plano East the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Broncos will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
