Football Game Preview: Florence Buffaloes vs. Llano Yellowjackets + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Florence will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Llano Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Florence comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-7, which was the final score in Florence's tilt against Hico on Friday.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Llano's strategy against Comfort on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Yellowjackets blew the Bobcats/Deer out of the water with a 41-0 final score. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Bobcats/Deer: they've now won four in a row.

Florence better keep an eye on Luke Davis. He was instrumental in Llano's win, throwing for 262 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Austin Humphries, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Llano didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brady Kelly, Jose Sillas, and JD Friday picked up one apiece. Sillas got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Llano's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Florence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Florence suffered a grim 34-14 defeat to Llano when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Buffaloes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
