Recap: Big Sandy Pioneers vs. Hays-Lodge Pole Thunder Birds
Even though the Big Sandy Pioneers have not done well against the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunder Birds recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Big Sandy enjoyed a cozy 51-32 victory over Hays-Lodge Pole. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Big Sandy has scored all year.
It was another big night for Jai Baumann, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenny Sant, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Big Sandy and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Hays-Lodge Pole, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Big Sandy will head out on the road to face off against North Star at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hays-Lodge Pole will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Box Elder at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th.
