Basketball Recap: West Iredell Comes Up Short

West Iredell extended their losing streak to 17 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-18. They were dealt an 85-23 defeat at the hands of the North Lincoln Knights. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-20.

As for North Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 14-4. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 31 points or more this season.

North Lincoln was led to victory by Ally Smith and Addison Grice. Smith almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine steals, while Grice almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Smith is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Reese Burch was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 20 points.

Looking ahead, West Iredell will look to defend their home court on Friday against Maiden at 6:00 p.m. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Lincoln, they will head out to square off against East Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
