Basketball Game Preview: BELIEVE Circle City Cyclones vs. International Gryphons

The BELIEVE Circle City Cyclones will square off against the International Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses dating back to last season for BELIEVE Circle City and three for International.

BELIEVE Circle City is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against KIPP Legacy back in December of 2024 (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. BELIEVE Circle City was outmatched by KIPP Legacy and fell 75-25. The contest marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, International came up short against Bethesda Christian on Friday and fell 43-36.

BELIEVE Circle City will need focus on slowing down Peter Machado, one of several International players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Johnson, who posted 16 points.

BELIEVE Circle City's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for International, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

BELIEVE Circle City was dealt a bruising 79-39 loss at the hands of International in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for BELIEVE Circle City, Philip Randolph (who went 17 of 33 en route to 40 points in addition to six steals and four blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
