Preview: Port Huron Red Hawks vs. Yale Bulldogs
The Port Huron Red Hawks will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Yale Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on December 29th. Port Huron will be strutting in after a win while Yale will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Port Huron didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Croswell-Lexington, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory.
Garrett James continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. The game was his sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Yale's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Utica Ford. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Yale came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Utica Ford is ranked 315th).
Port Huron now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Yale, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-1.
Port Huron took their victory against Yale in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 56-35. Does Port Huron have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
